WHO ARE WE

MCD offers a diverse range of specialist expertise in occupational safety, health and wellbeing by addressing both legislative industry requirements and workforce wellness. We combine technical compliance with practical wellbeing strategies to protect your people and strengthen performance.

 

Maria-Catherine Roache operates across three specialist areas within workplace health and safety: structured compliance systems, human performance strategy and cultural integrity.

 

With experience in high-risk environments, I understand the realities of critical and operational risks and the importance of clear, workable governance frameworks.

My work strengthens organisations at both a systems level and people level by upholding regulatory requirements while supporting sustainable performance.

Safety is not simply documentation. Nor is wellbeing a standalone initiative. Sustainable performance depends on both structured systems and human capability working together.

I am a member of a recognised professional organisation and work in alignment with its Codes of Ethics and professional standards.

 

 

My competence is verified through the HASANZ professional register and for the extension of wellness, accredited certification gained with a respected academy.

I work alongside the corporate sector and growing enterprises to strengthen both operational systems and human performance.

The nervous system governs how we feel, how we sustain energy and how we perform under pressure. It is the body’s internal regulation system - influencing stress response, recovery, focus and long-term health. When the sympathetic nervous system (fight-or-flight response) remains activated for prolonged periods, the body stays in a heightened stress state. Over time, this can contribute to fatigue, reduced cognitive clarity, emotional strain and increased vulnerability to illness. Sustainable performance depends on activating the parasympathetic nervous system - the body’s repair and recovery mode. Within our structured sessions, sound is applied intentionally to support this restorative shift, guiding the body out of stress response and into regulation. Sounds tuned to 432 Hz has been associated in emerging research with reduced heart rate, lower blood pressure and decreased perceived anxiety.

True workplace wellbeing considers taha tinana (physical), taha hinengaro (mental), taha whānau (social) and taha wairua (spiritual wellbeing). Through a Haumaru Tangata lens, we integrate cultural safety and psychosocial risk management directly into organisational systems. In alignment with ISO 45003, we help organisations manage psychosocial risk in a way that reflects Aotearoa’s cultural context - strengthening compliance, leadership capability and workforce resilience.
